The good, the bad, and the crunchy

Happy Tuesday, friends!  We had a weekend full of ups and downs, so I’m happy to have a fresh start this week.  On Friday night, Gilligan, our 7 year old labradoodle, had a grand mal seizure.   He’s fine now, thankfully.  We’ve been through this a few times; his last seizure was December 2011.   I grabbed Sammy out of the bathtub and we ran into the kitchen to talk Gill through it after calling Nick and my mother in law to come over.  It was bedtime and I needed someone to help take care of Sammy so I could clean up (seizures can get pretty messy).  Wrestling a freaked out 90 pound dog into the bathtub is not something I can do one handed.  By 9 pm, Gilligan was clean, Sam was asleep, and I collapsed on the couch with a glass of LaMarca Prosecco

Saturday started early, with some coffee, meal planning, peek-a-boo, and fruit salad.

Then we took a family trip to Trader Joes for our weekly groceries.  Left there after spending less than $100 (score!) and with the world’s best almonds.

Holy Mother of Pearl, these are addictive.  They taste like Barbeque potato chips (my all-time favorite)- super salty, a bit sweet, and extra crunchy, with a hint of smoke flavor.

Spent Saturday afternoon packing up a few valuables and blending up some almond butter.

Saturday night we watched Breaking Dawn: Part 2.  Needless to say, it was horrible.  We’ve watched all of them and, while cheesy, they were tolerable.  This last installment was like a first year film student’s crappy project.  Then we discussed the ins and outs of vampire procreation- still can’t figure out how that works.

Sunday included a trip to Jordan’s to look for a couch.  We want a sectional for our new family room.  Then I spent the afternoon at Coffee Break working on blog stuff.   And broke my internet.

But now it’s fixed- which is why you are getting this weekend recap today.

What’s your favorite kind of nut? (awkward question!)

I love pecans- must be the Texan in me!
