During our weekend in central Massachusetts, we did more than just antique. We ate, too! Bub’s Bar B Q in Sunderland, MA is one of the best kid-friendly restaurants I’ve been to. There’s no kid menu and you don’t need one. The barbecue standards of smoked brisket, pulled pork, sausage, baby back ribs, chicken, hamburgers, and cheeseburgers, along with grilled fish mean that everyone at the table can find something they like.
The most kid-friendly thing about Bub’s is there side dish bar. Rather than waiting for food until your order is ready, you can fill up a plate with baked beans, collard greens, cucumber salad, orange-glazed sweet potatoes, hickory smoked potatoes, potato salad, pasta salad, dirty rice with bean, and more before you even sit down. As all parents know, staving off a hunger meltdown is the key to enjoying a successful meal out with children.
When the weather is nice, you can sit outside and enjoy a game of cornhole or practice your putting with some mini-golf. Or, if you’re our wee one, you can dig in the sand box with a golf club after digging around with the Bat-mobile someone left behind. I can’t think of a better place to take kids who don’t like to sit still than Bub’s. The fact that the food is great is a huge bonus.
What is your favorite kid-friendly restaurant?
