I know it’s Friday and you’ve probably already eaten, so please excuse the upcoming barrage of drool-worthy bacon photos. It’s for a good reason! I wanted to make sure you’re prepped and ready to go for your Saturday breakfast. Whether you’re eating alone or having brunch with friends, this baked bacon will bring the crispy, porky stuff back to your table.
I stopped frying bacon the stove a couple of years ago. Something about the impending threat of grease fire and the whole “smelling like bacon all day” thing just didn’t work for me.
Enter: baked bacon.
This is a mess-free way to make bacon for a crowd. Love!
- 1 pound thick cut bacon
- 1 rimmed jelly roll baking sheet
- 1 wire cooling rack
- Aluminum foil
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line the rimmed jelly roll baking sheet with aluminum foil. Place the wire cooling rack inside the rimmed jelly roll baking sheet.
- Layer the bacon closely together on the wire cooling rack without overlapping.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes depending on how crispy you like your bacon. 20 minutes = slightly crisp and 25 minutes = extra crispy
**Note: For easy clean up, let the bacon grease come to room temperature and solidify slightly. Then roll up the aluminum foil to collect it and toss.
