This is the brunch for that REALLY special someone. We’re not talking a casual acquaintance or new boyfriend. If you’re going to treat someone to anything from The Back in the Day Bakery Cookbook, you better really like them because these recipes are like a love potion. No pressure.
For your appetizer, start with the Ham and Cheese Pastry Puffs. The buttery, richness of the puff pastry and the salty ham and cheese will whet your appetite for the main event.
Buttermilk cornmeal pancakes make a perfect main course for brunch. You’ll top them with real maple syrup (of course) and serve them alongside some crispy bacon.
But even with the first two dishes in your belly, you’ll still find room for Cinnamon Sugar Doughnut Muffins for dessert. If you’re feeling dainty, turn them into mini-muffins or just keep it real with the big ones. No judgment here.
Pancakes or waffles?
