It started out innocently enough. Butter and sugar meet in a mixing bowl. They’re supposed to fall in love, make sweet tender crumbs, and disappear into waiting mouths. But somewhere between the gentle whir of the KitchenAid and the sweet heat of the oven, things fell apart. Blame the baking powder. Curse the heavy hand that overfilled the cupcake liners. Shake your fist at the sky and wonder why love isn’t always enough! The end result remained the same- sad, flat cupcakes. Ripped callously from the only home they’d ever known, these poor dears didn’t stand a chance. But this isn’t a story about destruction. This is a story about redemption.
This is the legend of the cupcake crumble. Cake and frosting recipes from: The Back in the Day Bakery Cookbook Old Fashioned Cupcakes are tender, delicate, white cupcakes that are rich and sweet. Handle with care and enjoy.
